Intern Counsellor & RP(Q)
KayLee McMann
My name is KayLee, and I am a dedicated counselling psychology student currently enrolled in the Master of Arts Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. I am committed to integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic approaches to support individuals on their journey towards emotional wellness.
I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, where I specialized in Psychology and Political Science. I have extensive experience working in the field of education where I encouraged individual growth through unique and personalized care. It was through this experience that I was granted the rewarding experience of working with clients from the age five to 65, teaching them violin and piano.
With a foundation in empathy, active listening, and evidence-based practices, I am passionate about helping clients navigate challenges and achieve their goals. I have a special interest in using music and art, to facilitate self-expression and emotional regulation.
If you are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger, stress, or just having difficulty achieving goals and overall happiness, we can work together through a person-centered approach to customize a treatment plan that is unique to you.
A little bit about me:
-
I enjoy spending time in nature, drinking coffee, and playing violin
-
My favourite book is called The Institute by Stephen King
-
I moved to Ontario from Upstate New York at the age of 19
